The log is the product

Fire watch is not a person standing somewhere. It is a documented patrol at a defined frequency, recording each round, each area covered, the time, the person, and any condition observed, kept for the duration of the impairment and produced on request. The authority having jurisdiction cares about that record. If the log is thin, the watch did not happen, whatever anyone remembers.

Our fire watch officers log every round with a timestamp and a location, note the impaired system and the affected areas, and the log goes to you and stays available for the whole impairment. If your fire marshal or your insurer wants a specific format, we will use theirs rather than ours.

When you need one

The common triggers: a sprinkler system out of service beyond the allowed window, a fire alarm system down, hot work under permit, a standpipe impairment, or a construction phase where detection is not yet live. Your insurer may impose a stricter threshold than code does, read the policy, because the two often disagree and the policy is the one that pays.

Notification usually matters as much as coverage. The fire department, the alarm monitoring company and your carrier may each need to be told, on their own timeline. We will walk that list with you when we take the job, because an unlogged notification is the part people forget until they need it.

Why this is the one we can start fastest on

Fire watch is the service most often ordered for tonight, and it is the one where a company either answers or does not. It needs no site design, no long lead time and no complex post orders, it needs a trained officer on the property with a clipboard and a clock.

If a registered officer is free, we can frequently start the same day. If none is, you will hear that within the hour so you can call somebody else rather than waiting on us and finding out at 8pm that nobody is coming. That answer, given fast, is worth more to you than an optimistic yes.
